Honeywell  has acquired both Handheld Products and Metrologic Instruments to form a new division dedicated to the design and manufacture of AIDC products. Handheld and counter mount barcode scanners, Mobile & Wireless ruggedised computers, and OEM scanning products. The Honeywell AIDC division is now the world's largest manufacturer of barcode scanners.
